Measuring Cell Division through DiviTum^®

Measuring Cell Division though DiviTum^®, a new non-radioactive high sensitivity assay for serum thymidine kinase, for confirmation and follow-up of leukemias and lymphomas. Thymidine kinase in serum has been measured for more than 20 years, and extensive clinical studies have proved it to be a very valuable tool for confirmation and follow-up of hematological malignancies.

As the handling of the assays used so far have been complicated and not possible to automate, the determination has been used only in specialized laboratories. The easy and standardized procedure of the DiviTum^® assay makes it suitable for general use in clinical laboratories, particularly as it is run in standard 96 well microtiter plate format in an open system. The reagents are stable, and the shelf life is long.

DiviTum^® has much higher analytical sensitivity and accuracy and a wider assay range than previous assays. This may give it applications in addition to those for which the earlier tests have been shown useful.
