Clinical applications

The general applications for a cell proliferation (cell division) test in oncology is to monitor the disease progression and to determine patient prognosis.

There are also other application areas where a highly sensitive cell division test could be applied and these are outlined below. Since prostate cancer is a highly interesting area due to the problems stemming from the high sensitivity of PSA (prostate specific antigen) we also include a section on a possible use in prostate cancer diagnosis.
